A Day with Gavin

At the risk of looking too much like this post from the first day of First Grade, I'll just show one photo of the boys getting ready to walk to the bus. Tyler started school today and he'll be home soon so I can hear about how his first day was. I will say that I didn't cry this time... so I'm making improvements. But next week Gavin starts Kindergarten and I have a feeling that might be another story.

While Tyler was in school, Gavin and I ran to Target to get a card and some goodies for a neighbor that just had surgery. Then we decided to go to the Berry Patch to see if we could pick some strawberries. The berry patch is a working farm so we saw lots of animals... like this very friendly lil pig:

Gavin was a little nervous about the pig ~ it was the first one either of us had ever seen up close and personal!

We also found a very grouchy turkey... he shook his back end at us and sounded like maracas!

This rooster was very noisy...
And we found Aphrodite's long lost sister! Or at least she looked like she could have been...

Also some baby chicks ~ so cute and squeaky!
Finally it was time to pick raspberries... the strawberry fields were closed but this was fun, too!
Look at our stash!
Then off to find flowers for Jessica... Gavin picked some he thought she'd like.
And this was one of the two final arrangements we took to her to help her feel better from her surgery!
After lunch I squeezed a nap in while Gavin watched some TV (a rarity in summer as we're usually too busy playing!). We've had a beautiful day today and I'm looking forward to spending a few more with him before he goes back and I'm all alone on Tuesdays and Thursdays!

And now, we're off to pick up Tyler at the bus stop!

I totally understand the wanting to cry! George starts Wee school on monday at 8 am... so we too are trying to squeeze in family time...but your boys look so happy, I hope George is that happy at their age.
