I had to work Friday so it was a loooong week for me as well... And Shawn's finals were this week too! We decided that a day up in the mountains was in order so we headed up to Winter Park.
We had beautiful weather and beautiful scenery and it was just a lovely day...They played on the playground... although I don't understand why it was any better than the playground we have right by our house. ;) Somehow, it was. We also went on a giant human maze... Tyler and I went head to head against Shawn & Gavin. Our score was 11 minutes, while Shawn & Gavin came in at about 20 minutes. Tyler loves mazes so he was totally stoked about getting to walk around in one that was bigger than him!

We also rode on a scenic chair lift to the top of a mountain where we had the most breathtaking views I've had in a long time... I love that you can just breathe up there... with that crisp mountain air! The boys and I decided to lay down among the wildflowers for a minute... The shadows aren't great on this picture but I love the expressions on their faces ~ don't they just look so sweet? Looks can be deceiving, however. ;)

And here they are coming back down...
We finished off the day at the local thrift store. I got a $4 cashmere sweater in perfect condition and we found a couple paintings for our house by a local artist for $5 each! I love finding a good treasure.I wish I could say I was ready to go back to work tomorrow but I would love just one more day off... Oh well. Next weekend is a long 4 day weekend for Labor Day (and it also happens to be my birthday next week ~ hooray!) so I will just look forward to that.
Hope your weekend was lovely as well!

It looks like you made up for the crazy week with a lot of fun in the mountains. It's easy to forget how incredibly beautiful the mountains are.
Your birthday is coming up! Sweet! I'm gonna say Happy Birthday now so I don't miss it!

looks like a great weekend! not used to seeing winter park without the snow, but it seems equally beautiful.
WOW I was just telling someone about the West Mountain Slide in upstate NY (I believe it no longer exists) How Fun. I'm glad to know that there are still slides like that these days.
I came here via Oh The Joys comment.
I loved the yellow slide photo.
And I miss the mountains.
