The Rainbows

Tonight was back to school night! We got to see Tyler's teacher again and I still love her as much as I did the other day. Tyler has a couple kids in his class from last year, so he was really happy about that. We also stopped in the science room, where the teacher had several experiments set up for the kids to play with. They were quite impressed! We left feeling excited about the coming year and another new beginning for our boys. On the way home, the rain that had been gently falling as we drove to school, had slowed to a sprinkle and the sun came out. You can guess what happened next... a full double rainbow spread across the sky that we could see the entire way home. I snapped a couple pictures but this doesn't even begin to show the beauty that it was. Isn't that purple sky cool?
Tomorrow starts Tyler's first day of first grade. I barely remember my first year of school at St. Jude. I remember my teacher, whose favorite saying was "you knocked my socks off!". She was sweet and happy to be a teacher... two great qualities. I loved her but don't remember much. Knowing that my earliest memories are from this age makes me more cognisant of what I say to Tyler, knowing that he might actually remember these times now, unlike the first several years of his life. Hopefully I won't screw up too bad. ;)

What beautiful rainbows. I promise you are not messing up your children at all. I can't believe 1st grade is approaching so quickly. We have back to school night tomorrow.

Glorious pictures!
My boys headed off to school today--4th and 1st. Yikes. My girls will be at that threshhold soon enough. Treasure the moments each day.

Those pictures are insanely beautiful. I can't imagine what seeing that sky up close and personal must have been like.

We do the back-to-school thing in two weeks...
