After dropping off Tyler at the bus stop and Gavin at school, we did wander first to T's school to watch and make sure he made it safely to his class's line. I did not step in this time, in fact he had no clue we were there. We watched him play and marveled at how small he really is (though he seems so grown up to us at times!), surrounded by bigger kids. He is one of the youngest in his class at not quite 6. He did a great job - playing on the smaller playground like I asked him to (to avoid a ton of interaction with older impressioning 5th graders). And when the bell rang, he grabbed his bag and went directly to his line. Hooray! He's a quick study and just needs to be told once (and maybe reminded another time or two) what to do and he's got it.
So now Shawn and I are alone with no kids... We went back to the house and marveled at the quietness and then went on a nice 2 mile walk/jog together. We never get to work out together so even though it doesn't sound very romantic... it was fun. :)
After our shower we had to go to the dentist so I could get my teeth clean, which is definitely not very romantic. And it took an hour and a half! Poor Shawn had to wait all that time... But then we got to go eat some seafood together at Pappadeaux, which was our first time. It was very yummy but very expensive! We went to the mall and walked around a bit before coming back to pick up Gavin and meet Tyler at the bus stop. Oh! And I got some new makeup too. :)
It was definitely great to spend some quality time together and have a date in the middle of the day. And best of all - free babysitting! Well, sort of.

That sounds like a wonderful day! It's amazing how precious dates become when children enter our lives.
i so love these moments now. just adults.
Ok, so totally get the working out thing as romantic. I love getting to run with Sean. And the restaurant looked fun, but where you really got me is the MAC stuff. Ga-reeeeen, with envy.
Oh, goodness. The hubs and I have not done that for...hmm...years, anyway.
Sounds like fun. Very restorative!
You're such a good stalker mommy, following you little boy all the way to school. :)
Glad you had a nice day with Shawn. Hopefully you had time for some indoor exercise too.
