We also snuck out of the house for a bit to get Shawn's Halloween costume and tour a local candy factory. We thought it'd be a fun learning experience for the boys and took the opportunity to purchase some local candy for trick~or~treaters.
We had leaves to rake, so the boys got to enjoy some leave jumping, now that Gavin's cottonwood tree is big enough to give us enough leaves for a modest pile.
The boys had a blast...
Next it was time for our annual pumpkin carving extravaganza...
Concentrating super hard to draw the perfect jack o' lantern...
Gavin can not concentrate on anything without sticking his tongue out!
Here are the finished creations ~ Gavin's is "domo" and Tyler has a traditional jack o' lantern face.

That looks like so much fun!
Great pictures... as usual! :) Fall is my favorite season, too.

Aww, looks like great fun! I love autumn. Next year I think we'll do the whole pumpkin carving thing with the Little Mister...when he's old enough to enjoy it and when Daddy's home to help! ;)
Love those leaves & those pumpkin faces!
Great Jack O'Lanterns... I love LOVE Fall!
yay! fall! we have been enjoying it here too...the pumpkins are SO cute. and pumpkin seeds....yummy.
Excellent fall fun! Poor Josh ended up carving both of the kids' pumpkins on his own. LOL. They still claim them as their own, though.
those adorable concentrating faces are just too much! (and i love the idea of purchasing local candy you saw get made.) i'm so looking forward to doing fun holiday things with my little girl, but i know to be thankful for the certain things that are easier because she's "portable" :)
most of the bloggers i know are conservative, and it's so refreshing to "meet" like-minded progressives. thanks so much for commenting over at my place!
The pumpkins look great. I love carving with the kids. Heck, I carved pumpkins even when I didn't have kids of my own.
I like your little leaf pile. It's very cute. If you'd like to rake up a few more leaves come to my house, kay. We have hundred year old maples that tower over the house dropping their leaves everywhere. Thank god the lawn guys came one last time...
