Loooong Weekend!

I can't believe this forever weekend is coming to an end... We have had a busy weekend, which is usual for us. We got to go see a movie... and because the sound went out for about ten minutes while we were there, they gave us four free tickets to see another movie!

I had a lovely birthday ~ thanks so much for the birthday wishes! I woke up to this:

Gavin and Shawn made me pancakes for breakfast:

And they sent me on a treasure hunt to find my birthday present: a new wine rack!We did some shopping and ate out so I didn't have to cook... We also decided to take advantage of the long weekend by doing some painting. Before we got started, Persephone decided she would climb up the ladder to take a look around:

(she is a strange cat... I thought it was weird that she flushed the toilets but this one takes the cake! The kids got a kick out of her climbing the ladder rungs like a person... )

We also bought purple paint to do the kitchen with but with all the cabinets, nooks and crannies, I'm not looking forward to it and think we might wait until another long weekend to tackle that task. It's nice to have some color though ~ so far all our walls are white except for the now three rooms we've painted!

The boys are still sick... They wake up every morning seemingly fine but by the end of the day their temperature spikes and they get horrible stomach pains or headaches. Tyler's had two such episodes and Gavin has had this go on for a week. Today I decided enough was enough and took him to the Urgent Care clinic that just moved in right by our house and was told that it's a bug and I have to let it run its course. Just keep treating it with Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Ugh. I hate that there's so little I can do to help them. Hopefully it will be over soon!
