Surprises...

We have had a few surprises since we returned from vacation. First on the surrogacy front... after another delay and more frustration with getting the contract signed, we found out on Monday that the IP's (Intended Parents) actually were pregnant! They have gotten pregnant in the past and miscarried so many times they decided to go the surrogacy route, but maybe this time will be different. Regardless, I took that as my opportunity to excuse myself and move on to find another couple (or perhaps person) to work with. Hopefully the next time around things will go more smoothly and successfully. In talking with my rep at the agency, there are definitely other people waiting in the wings. Hopefully we'll get a match again soon. Unfortunately I won't get to be pregnant with Ria - at least not as much of it as we'd hoped. But what's meant to be will be, right?

The other surprise we got this week was a visit from Shawn's cousin and her family. Her son Michael is just a little over a year older than Tyler and the boys really had a good time together. We went up to Estes Park (our favorite place to hike) to have a picnic, go hiking and do a little shopping.
During lunch a few ducks came up to share our PB & J sandwiches... And Gavin made a new friend - this fat little chipmunk apparently decided Gavin had a snack for him hidden away somewhere. He was not scared at all of Gavin...

And I liked this one too - the boys were looking for fish....

...luckily no one fell in. :)

So I went back to work today... I had 56 lbs of mail to take to the post office, 105 email messages (most notifications of my winning the Irish or U.K. lotteries), 8 files to audit, 12 phone calls to new clients to make and 3 voice mails to return. Whew! I didn't get it all done but hopefully in a few days I'll get caught up. Tomorrow is my co-worker Nicole's last day. She's been a joy to work with and we're going to miss her a lot. But not before we celebrate her last day and her upcoming birthday with lunch at a yummy Indian restaurant nearby. We have to stay goodbye in style!

I am glad you got to enjoy your surprise visit. I like the picture of all the little butts hanging over the railing!

Hopefully they can carry this pregnancy to term and you can help a new couple. You'll find some new IP's very soon.

Isn't Ria supposed to get pg this month?

The pic with Gavin is one of my favorite pics ever. Very cute! Good luck with the surrogacy and get movin' with it so we can be pg. together. ;-)
