Tonight we are having a fresh from our garden salad. The lettuce is ready and I picked six tomatoes today! I ate one and let me tell you, cut up with a little salt... it was the. best. tomato. I have ever had!!! Yum!!! Clearly a couple of them were not *quite* ready so they are ripening on the window sill but will hopefully be good to go in a couple days. We purchased 4 tomato plants last spring so we are probably going to have tomatoes coming out of our ears... The boys still don't like them but some of my neighbors do so it's a good excuse to be neighborly. And speaking of neighbors... at least nine of them had their cars broken into last night! All but one of the cars were unlocked and the truck that was locked got a brick thrown through it's window. Of course silly me didn't even see the brick and broken glass in the middle of the street when I drove off to the gym this morning. Ugh. I feel so bad for my neighbors... Thankfully Shawn's Echo, which is our only vehicle not in the garage, was locked and he doesn't keep anything valuable in it. Mostly iPod's and navigation systems and computers were stolen out of the cars... But the truck that was locked had a hand gun stolen. That is pretty scary to me!!
And finally... our first iMac that we got the other day is not going to work out after all. Shawn
tried and tried to make it functional for us but the prior owner erased the basic necessities off of it and it's going to take an expert to get it to the point where a family will be able to use it. Also, it didn't fit in the space we were wanting it to... So... instead of putting more money into an almost 10 year old computer, we decided to sell back the software and try to get rid of the computer at our yard sale this weekend. Shawn found a used computer on Craigslist yesterday for not much more and brought it home. It works like a dream! We love it! It is better than the $1000 2 year old Gateway notebook we have and we only invested $300 in it. Sweet! And... it fits perfectly on the small desk we have. It's not as cute as the other one was but it isn't too shabby!

Usually we are not that exciting! ;) I guess I missed talking to you in blogland while I was on vacation!

Remember you can always share some of your neighborly goodness over my way. Congrats on the new mac. It is time to start downloading widgets. ;-)
Hey, thanks for visiting Jenn's site. That was really nice.
Re tomatoes: it constantly amazes me how different a real tomato tastes from the overly processed ones you buy in the supermarket.
In fact, supermarket tomatoes have no taste at all, do they?!
I love love love tomatoes with a little salt.
it's been way too long since i've grown my own tomatoes (two years now) and i miss it so.
Yay for working computers! ANd the tomatoes? I envy you! Thanks for popping over to my place!
OMG, I am glad your car didn't get broken into!
Yeah, for the yummy tomatoes and the new computer.
